Getting started takes less than a minute. No account, no sign-up required.

Install & Choose Your Home App

Download Find My Phone by Clap Home and complete the setup. Choose this App or keep your preferred default home app, such as Pixel Launcher. After setup, open the App to access phone-finding tools; if you skip the home-app reminder, swipe right from the App's home screen to reach them.

Enable Clap & Whistle Detection

Enable detection from the phone-finding screen or the home screen widget. Grant microphone and notification permissions when prompted. Sound recognition runs locally on your device.

Clap or Whistle to Find Your Phone

With detection active, clap clearly twice or whistle to trigger your chosen alert sound. Test the sensitivity and volume before relying on the feature.

Microphone

Used to analyze clap and whistle sounds locally while detection is listening. Listening may continue with the screen on, depending on detection settings and test mode. Audio recordings are not saved or uploaded.

Notifications

Required to show a persistent status when detection is active, so the service continues running in the background.

Default Launcher

Optional for replacing your home screen. You can keep Pixel Launcher and use phone-finding tools in the App. A home-app reminder may appear when you leave the phone-finding screen; change your default in Android settings at any time.

Device Sensors

Accelerometer is used only for the optional Anti-Theft motion detection feature. Disabled when anti-theft is off.

Camera / Flashlight

Camera access supports the optional flashing-light alert. The phone-finding feature does not capture photos or videos.
